About Us
Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife Linda. Habitat has built more than 225,000 homes around the world, providing more than one million people in more than 3,000 communities around the world. Simply stated, our mission is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness by building affordable, energy- and resource-efficient homes for people in need.
Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, volunteer Christian ministry that partners with qualified families, volunteers, and donors to provide housing for needy families in the Farmville Area. Since 1990 we have built over 20 homes and through our ReStore provided new and used home improvement materials at affordable prices to area residents of all income levels, promoting the maintenance and repair work that can reduce the incidence of substandard housing.
Here at Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity we believe that all our neighbors deserve safe, comfortable homes they can afford – and there’s no better way to build our communities than to all lend a hand. Because when we all donate what we can – whether it be time or talent or money – we can build more decent, affordable homes for those in need. |
